Total Chaos for Descent 2 Conversion Project
Current Status: v1.0.2 (COMPLETELY DONE!!!)
Welcome! This is the REALLY OFFICIAL release of Total
Chaos for D2! All 5 levels are finally converted and now
are BUG FREE!!! Hope you enjoy them!
All these levels have been modified to take advantage of
Descent 2's new features, such as flowing textures,
different level motifs, and shoot-out lights.
All levels also have at least one of each weapon on
them (except for level 1, which is sans Earthshaker and
Smart Mines, they're almost unfair on that level!).
I do not plan to make any more changes to these levels
unless I receive lots of requests, so this is for all
practical purposes the version that stands.
Updates from last revision:
1. Now that Achim's fixed that dang Devil bug, flags
should look right on level start up.
2. Fixed some cosmetic bugs.
3. Removed duped guns from the levels. Complaints
that two Phoenixs and Helixs were just too much.
Plus I never intended to put two in anyway.
4. Reset lighting on all levels to 0% min. Some are
darker, but cooler.
5. Moved flag bases in levels 3 and 4. Where did I
even come up with those placements? :)
Updates in previous revision (most recent first):
1. Removed Earthshaker and Smart Mines from level 1.
They're unfair on that level. Lots of complaints,
too.
2. Changed some textures on 1 and 2. I used some
look-alikes when I first converted them, then
found the exact matches buried at the end of the
texture list.
3. Devil's reactor bug fixed. Now there IS a reactor.
4. Removed the waterfalls at the bottom of the lava
tube in level 1. Lots of complaints.
Currently Known Bugs:
1. Some of the lava, water, etc. flows look crappy, but
hey, Parallax didn't do a much better job on the
game levels... :)
If you have any complaints, comments, or suggestions, or
find a texture I missed or set wrong or something, please
e-mail me and let me know. I want this to be a quality
conversion! But on the other hand, I hope this is the
last version I have to do...
Special thanks to:
Achim Stremplat for Devil and putting up with my constant
complaining about bugs :)
Fokker and Sheridan for helping me beta test the final
versions (v0.9 and v1.0.1)
Enjoy...
